Warmest Wishes from Curly

Christmas is near, counting down to 23 days to be precise!

This would probably be my last post for the year as we prepare for Christmas holidays and celebrations!

Before I go off for the celebration, here is one last card I would like to share on my blog today.

And here is Warmest Wishes from Curly.

Stamps used: Curly, Cocoa Stand, Sweetest Season sentiment set

I blended some distress inks for the background to create a night sky and the greenish ground with some of my favourite distress ink blending.  And I added (again) the enamel dots from Ranger accents to create the falling snow.  There are many ways to mimic the snowy sky of winter but I particularly love how the enamel dots will give a slight 3D effects to the card.

You may ponder why the Cocoa Stand image has such a detail cut with the inside of the stamped image.  I used the PixScan function from Silhouette Cameo software to help with the cutting and I particularly love this function as it gives a more detailed cutting that the Brother ScanNCut machine.

I coloured Curly and the Cocoa Stand with my Copic markers and adhere to the card base with some foam dots.  And to finish off the card, I added a very apt sentiment from the Sweetest Season sentiment set ~ Warmest Wishes!  With every cup of hot cocoa served from the Cocoa Stand, it comes with the warmest wishes from Curly!

In case you didn't know, all stamps featured on this card is from Purple Onion Designs and right now the holiday day sales is still on till 7 December, with all stamps at 25% off!  You won't want to miss it (:

That is all for now! Have a merry Christmas and a very happy new year!!!

The Sale Is On!

The sale is ON!

From today till 5 December, all stamps at Purple Onion Designs are at 25% off!  Now it's just the right time to get all the stamps that you've been eyeing on!

And here are some shaker Christmas tags I've made using some of my favourite Purple Onion Designs stamps.

And here are some close-up pictures of the individual tags.

I coloured all the images with Copic markers and I blended some distress inks on the card stocks for the background of the shaker tags.  The most fun part of making shaker tags is choosing the colours of "shaking ingredients" meaning the beads, sequins and glittering stuff for the tags (:

Using My Favorite Things Die-namics Tag Builder Blueprint 6, it's really easy to put the tags together.  They even come with the right circle shaker pouches that is hassle-free!

To add more colours to the shaker tags, I coloured some branches from Holly branch and I cut the portion of the image that I want to attach to each tag.

Adding these shaker tags to your Christmas gift wrappings will definitely bring joy to the receiver with the added fun element!

I hope you like what I've shared today.  Don't forget to start shopping for your favourite stamps at Purple Onion Designs before the sales end!

Hope to see you again real soon!  Stay calm and carrying on shopping! (:

Snowflake Shaker Card

Hello!

Sharing with you today is a shaker card I made using a new stamp from the Mistletoe Farm collection illustrated by Stacey Yacula, currently available on sale at Purple Onion Designs.

Today will be the last day for the bundle sale of the full collection, sales is good till end of the day so go grab the collection before the offer is gone!

It's been awhile since I last made a shaker card and it's always nice to make one for Christmas season.  I picked sequins and beads with colours that resembles the snow so that it compliments the scene.  So now you know why it's always fun to make shaker cards for Christmas!

I stamped the images of Snowflake, and that one tree from snowy tree stamp, and farm horizon with my favourite Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colour them with my Copic markers.  I also blended lightly some distress ink on the background of the farm horizon to have a nice blue winter sky.

For the base card stock, if you can see at the bottom left corner, there's a tint of light orange and some specks of gold glitter just to make the whole card look a little more colourful and Christmas~y feel (:

Instead of a rectangular normal frame, I used scallop frame from Avery Elle Wonky Scalloped frames elle-ments.

I hope you like what I've shared today (:  The sale will be ending in a couple of times so be sure to grab the collection before the offer ends!

Happy paper crafting!

Have A Magical Holiday Season with Mistletoe Farm

Here is the card that I'll be sharing today!

Have a magical holiday season

To create the snowy farm scene, I stamped Farm Horizon with my favourite black ink, Memento in Tuxedo black.  I blended some distress ink to create the blue dark sky resembling nightfall and I coloured the rest of the images with my Copic markers.  Again I used Ranger enamel accent in white glacier to add the random dots to create the falling snow.

Notice how the little bumps formed by the Ranger enamel accents really added some dimensional details to the card, making it a little more interesting!

Again I used Memento ink in Tuxedo Black and stamped Ace and Pepper on some Copic friendly cardstock and then I used the PixScan function from my Silhouette Cameo to have them cut out nicely and have them coloured with my Copic markers.

Next, I cut the top and bottom panels with some cardstocks and added some dotted details at the edge using Lawn Fawn's Border die for the added details, stamped the sentiment on the lower panel and the card the almost done!

Lastly, I adhere the top and lower panels for the card with Kokuyo Dot liner, and Ace and Pepper with some foam dots.

I hope you like the card that I've shared today.  If you like to see more inspiring projects using the stamps from the new Mistletoe Farm collection, just head over to the Purple Onion Design blog and I'm sure you will love what the Design team has to show!

New Collection ~ Mistletoe Farm

Hello!

If you have been following my Instagram account, you would have seen the "coming soon" graphic that the new winter collection of stamps will be available from Purple Onion Designs that is illustrated by Stacey Yacula. Well, the wait is over!

The new Mistletoe Farm collection is now available and for a limited period of time only, the whole collection will be sold at a $107.00 (at a 30% discount!).  The collection consist of 26 stamps and offer ends on 31 October 2018.

Mistletoe Farm collection, as usual, consists lots of new cute critters and this time round, it has lots of farm animals too!  If you are a fan of Stacey Yacula, you wouldn't want to miss having this collection!

And here is my first card using a couple of stamps from Mistletoe Farm (:

Celebrate the season!

The idea of Maggie sitting on top of the stack of hay bale was from a random stamping fun (what I usually do when I explore new stamps) and when I saw how cute it was for her to be sitting on the top on the stack of hay bale, with her arms wide open embracing the falling snow, I really love how the whole scene look!  Perfect expression for celebrating the season!

I stamped a couple of hay bale on Inkadinkado stamping mask paper and then cut them out for the mask stamping technique to achieve the whole image.  Here is a tutorial for the mask stamping to share.

For the scene of the snowing farm, I stamped farm horizon on a water colour cardstock with my favourite ink, Black Tuxedo from Memento.  I did some light blending using distress inks in chipped sapphire (for the sky) and iced spruce (for the snowy ground).  I wanted the image of Maggie and the hay bale to pop so I keep the rest of the colouring subtle except for the barn house.  Somehow the barn house looks prettier in red!

To create the scene of the falling snow, I added little dots of Ranger enamel accents in Glacier white.  I simply love how it gives the dimensional look when it dries, making the snow fall looking more realistic.

No card is complete without sentiment and I find "Celebrate the season" is just the right one for this card.

I really hope you like what I've shared today!  To see more amazing projects from the design team of Purple Onion Designs featuring the new Mistletoe Farm collection, just head over to the blog and take a look!  I'm sure you will be inspired (:

Remember to check back here in a couple of days as I will be sharing more projects using the new Mistletoe Collection.

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday with Rosie

Sometimes a treat bag or a gift box just look a little to simple?  That's how I feel when I wanted to pack a gift for a friend on her birthday.... and so I decided to make it look a little more fancy!

Happy Birthday Treat Bag with Rosie
Stamps used: Rosie, Wildflowers, (on the tag) floral end notes

The kraft paper treat bag is being cut out using my Silhouette Cameo.  I then stamped the images with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colour them with Fabre Castell polychromo colour pencils.  I stamped the image of Rosie first, and then cover it up securely with some mask stamping paper.  Then I stamped the image of the wildflowers in the background all round the treat bag.

If you have doubts on the masked stamping, just do a search on YouTube and you will find lots of tutorials to guide you on it.

I also made a small tag to go along with the bag so that I can write a short message and also to add on a sentiment to make it look a little more fun (:

Colouring with the polychromo colour pencils didn't start off well for me, but it definitely got better after watching some very informative tutorials on the YouTube!  My colouring is far from perfect but practice definitely helps loads!

Even if it's just a normal plain paper bag,  all these stamping and colouring can even be done.  Just add a touch of stamping and colouring, or perhaps, if you have a little more time, make a gift tag and attach along, and the treat bag will look so much more interesting and lovely for a special occasion!

Hope you like what I've shared today!

Pick up your stamps and start stamping today (:

Happy Birthday With Tiered Cake

Happy weekend!

The sales is still on going at Purple Onion Design,  just another 2 days left for 25% off all stamps!  So hop over to check out the stamps if you have not do so (:

And today I have another card to share with you (:

The background with the Happy Birthday sentiment was created by blending distress inks with the distress ink blender and a random splats of glitter inks from the Finetec pearl colors ink palette.  This technique was used in one of my previous card ~ Birthday Wishes, which was posted earlier.

I wanted to keep the tiered cake as the main focus so I kept everything else simple and clean.  I stamped the image with my favourite Memento ink in black tuxedo and  coloured it with Copic markers.  I also added some Nuvo glitter drops in Silver Moondust to give more dimension and fun to the cake.  I really love how the Nuvo drop hold its shape after it's dried!  It really gives the card lots of bling!

Next, I die cut a dainty scallop lace border from Spellbinders borderabilities A2 scallop border die templates and adhered it at the bottom of the card to make it look more dainty.

And the card is complete!

I hope you like the card I've shared today (:  The sales will end on 22 July so be sure to get your favourite stamps from Purple Onion Designs before the sales end to enjoy the saving of 25% savings!

That's all for now.  Keep calm and happy shopping!

Keep In Touch

Hello!

Today I'm sharing another card using stamps from Purple Onion Designs.  The 15th anniversary sale is still on till 22 July and all stamps are 25% off.  It's a great time now to purchase all the stamps that you have been eyeing on!  Don't wait too long as some of the items are already sold out.

And here is the card that I'll be sharing today (:

Stamps used: Paislee Press Envies, sentiment from SA Hometown Post office.

I randomly stamped different images of the envelopes with Ranger archival ink pad in jet black over my favourite mixed media paper from Daler Rowney and coloured them with Zig colour real brush.  The sentiment was stamped in Versamark embossing ink and heat set with embossing powder from WOW embossing powder in white on a black card stock.

The images were coloured unevenly on purpose as I was trying to achieve an abstract and artistic look :P And I also wanted to give the card a more modern feel, something different from what I would usually do.  Lastly, I fussy cut out a little envelop to adhere just next to the sentiment to add on a little cuteness to the card.  We all like a little cuteness don't we? :D

I hope you like what I've shared today.  Please hop back in a couple of days as I'll be sharing another card using Purple Onion Designs stamps.  For more inspiration, you can always head over here to see what the design team members have created, loads of awesome projects and great ideas!

Stay calm and colour more envelopes! (:

15th Anniversary Sale at Purple Onion Design!

Yay!  It's time of the year again for the anniversary sale at Purple Onion Designs!

It's already 15 years since Purple Onion Designs begin and I'm very glad  to be a part of the design team, having the privilege to work with all the beautiful stamps available.

The sale begins today and will end at 22 July 2018 with 25% off for all stamps including the ones at the sales category.  If there's any stamps that you have been eyeing on for some time now is the best chance to make purchase!

And to start off the celebration, here is birthday card I made with one the stamps from the latest collection ~ Spread Kindness.

I was totally excited to work with Floral spray as I've never made any projects with floral stamps. The floral spray has to be the main focus of the card and so I try my best to keep the rest of the design on the card to be subtle and simple.

I'm lucky to own a Brother ScanNcut machine so I let the machine do the "fussy" cutting part.

I coloured floral spray with Copic markers.  For the background, I blended some distress inks in mustard seed, squeezed lemon and dried marigold with a ink blender.  I also did some random ink splats using a small hard brush with some shimmer ink from the Finetec pearl colours ink palette.

To give it an extra shine, I picked some gold sequins and place them at each side of the card and the card is complete!

I hope you like what I have shared (:  I used to have fears working with floral themed stamps so most of the time I'll just stick to what I'm most comfortable with.  However I really love how this birthday card turned out :)   One lesson I've learnt from crafting is ~ if you don't try you'll never know!

Alright that's all for today!  Don't forget to check out Purple Onion Designs blog for more details of the sales and be inspired by all the beautiful projects created by the design team!

Be sure to check back again in a few day's time as I'll be sharing another card soon!

Have a great weekend!

Spread Kindness ~ Have A Magical Birthday

Hello!  Today I'll be sharing another card that I've made using the 3 images from the new Spread Kindness collection from Stacey Yacula, which is now available at Purple Onion Designs.

Have you seen the new collection already?  If not, it's time to hop over to the blog and website to take a look! (:  Spread Kindness collection is a tad different from the past collections as it offers traditional images and florals plus the usual lovable critters.  The traditional images can be used on it's own and also can be pair up together with the lovable critters.

And here is my card for today's blog post (:

Have A Magical Birthday

I stamped Flynt and Goldie with Memento ink in Black Tuxedo and coloured them with my favourite Copic markers.  The background, with the dreamy colours of bubbles, is created using various colours of distress inks and the stencil, basic shapes - Circles from My Favorite Things.  I recently discovered how versatile and easy it is to use stencils to create a background, it's really fun!

I wanted a whimsical feel to the card and so I added some puffy clouds using the Puffy Clouds border from Lawn Fawn to the top and bottom of the card to also give it a bit of dimension.

Lastly, I picked some sequins of my favourite colours and added them near the corners of the card.

I hope you like this fun, magical and fairly easy-to-make card that I've shared today!  Remember, the bundle sales is still on till Friday 22 June.  Be sure to check here for more details of the offers and savings!

Remember to spread some kindness today and I wish you a great week ahead! (;

Spread Kindness

Hello!  I have great news to share!

Today is the day of the spring stamp release ~ Spread Kindness, illustrated by the very talented Stacey Yacula.  They are now available at Purple Onion Designs!

Spread Kindness consists of two distinctive stamp styles that work perfectly when mixed together.  The larger sized stamps are also ideal to be used on their own.  It's an amazing collection that you can come up with many varieties of cards and projects!

There are also two new sets of sentiments that coordinates with Spread Kindness collection.  Essential Thoughts, which is a new addition to the Essential sentiments series and Kindness sentiment set (which I really love!) consisting of 17 large sized sentiments in two different fonts.

And here is a card I made using some of the new from Spread Kindness.

May All Your Dreams Come True

Eve is one my favourite stamp from the Spread Kindness collection as she makes me think of sweet dreams in a good night's sleep.  Therefore, I matched the sentiment of "May All Your Dreams Come True" for the card.

The dreamy night clouds background was created using the Mini Cloud stencil from My Favorite Things and a light blend of distress ink in Chipped Sapphire with the ink blender.  I coloured Eve and Twinkling Stars with Copic markers.

To replicate the stars in the night sky, I added some clear and blue sequins, and blue stars for that extra shine.

From today until Friday, 22 June 2018, you will be able to purchase the Spread Kindness collection, with an option of 3 different bundles to choose from.
I hope you like the card I've shared today and I hope you can check back in a couple of days' time as I'll be sharing another card created using another few stamps from Spread Kindness.

Please remember to head over to Purple Onion Designs blog to check out more details of the Spread Kindness bundles options and also to be inspired by all the gorgeous cards created by the talented group of ladies from the design team!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you back here again soon!  Happy crafting and go Spread Kindness today! (:

The Sky's The Limit

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing with you a card I made for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #28.  It's been quite a while since I last participated in one and I so regret that I didn't make it in time to play along for challenge #27 which is my favourite ~ 3D card!  :'(

Looking at the fabulous projects that were entered into the previous challenge, I was totally in awe and inspired!  So I make it a point this time to participate in challenge #28!  Yay!  I made it!

For challenge #28, it's a sketch!

And here's the card I created.

I picked the stamp set Blue Skies as it's one of my favourite set of stamps from Lawn Fawn!  But then I have lots of stamp sets from Lawn Fawn that's my favourite!

I wanted to keep the colours of my card subtle and soft, so I kept the background white so that the smaller hot air balloon can be the main focus.  And then I gave the front of my card a soft cloudy look with a blend of distress ink in Tumbled Glass.

All the images are coloured with Copic markers and stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I also used some foam adhesive to adhere the bigger hot air balloon to give it a little 3d effect.

I hope you like the card I created today!  Lawn Fawnatics challenge #28 is open till 20 May so there's still time to join in the fun! And that's all for now, thank you for stopping by! (:

Hope To See You Real Soon

Finally I have time to blog on a new card I created with Purple Onion Designs cute critters!  Sorry for the lack of posts, as sometimes I prefer to do quick posts at my Instagram account, which I find it easier!

Here is the card I've created.

HOPE TO SEE YOU real soon

The sentiment, HOPE TO SEE YOU real soon is from the Journey sentiment set.

HOPE TO SEE YOU real soon is created as a farewell card or a goodbye card in mind.  It's like a "from all of us" card that could be for a co-worker leaving the company, or a friend leaving the country etc etc.

The "wefie" in the centre of the card is created using the Lawn Fawn die set Say cheese.  There's no particular die used for the smaller polaroid.  What I did was just cut out some rectangular shapes of card stock, used a square die from a set of nesting square dies to cut the border and adjusted the length accordingly.

I then arrange the smaller polaroid to the way I like and trim off the corners that's protruding from the 4.25"x 5.5" cardstock and adhere the "wefie" polaroid last.

To give the base cardstock a light hint of orange, I blended some distress ink in dried marigold with the blending tool.  All images are coloured using Copic markers.

That's all for now and I hope you like what I've shared today.  I'm thinking of creating another 3D project next...maybe.

Ok that's all for today!  Go make more cards now! (:

A New Year, A New Project

Happy 2018!  Sorry for the lack of post as I took a real long break from colouring and paper crafting!

I want to thank everyone who has stopped by my blog during the blog hop!  Never has my blog had so many visitors!  I'm sure the winners have benefited greatly from the free classes!

Start of a new year is always a little sluggish for me.  After all the festive celebrations, it's hard to get the crafting mojo back again!  But I'm so happy that I'm able to complete a 3d project yesterday.

This 3d box featuring a petal fold closure is cut file from the Silhouette Design store by Lori Whitlock (Design ID #20742) and I had it cut out on a Kraft paper using my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine.

There's quite a bit of masked stamping on this box as the layout of the stamps are all different on four sides.

clouds, Beach grass #1 and #2

Stamps used: Free Spirit

Like a similar project I did during Christmas (oops, I didn't do a blog post on that but you can find it on my Instagram!) I used polychromo colour pencils to colour the images.  I was clueless how the colour pencils work but I'm so glad for the tutorials I found on YouTube and finally figure how to use them.  It's not perfect colouring but at least it's the way I like it (:

Here is a particular YouTube tutorial by Julia Altermann that I find exceptionally helpful and I'm grateful for crafters like her to share the know-how selflessly.

Colouring the images were really whole loads of fun!  I have to say Free Spirits is my favourite on this project!

All images are stamped using Mememto Black Tuxedo ink, coloured with Faber Castell Polychromo colour pencilsInkadinkado Stamp-A-Ma-Jig Stamp Positioner  and stamping mask paper is a must-have tool for positioning of the images and masked stamping.

I hope you are inspired and like what I've shared today!  If you have any question, just drop me a comment and I'll try my best to answer (:

Have a great weekend!
